Marriage!
You with me, living as one in this world
Engrossed in each other, together cuddled;
Away from everything, enjoying the lull
This was the first phase of our nuptial
Either you or me, are right in this world,
Engrossed in a fight, feeling muddled
Away from compromises, sounding rumbled
This was the second phase of our nuptial
You and me, in our respective worlds,
Engrossed in our work, separately puzzled
Away from each other, sensing the saddle
This was the third phase of our nuptial
Just you and me, left alone in the world
Trying to engross, regretting the stumbles
Why did we make our lives so difficult
Is what we wondered in the fourth phase of nuptial.
I was just thinking about ‘Marriage’. The oxford dictionary defines ‘Marriage’ as the formal union of a man and a woman, by which they become husband and wife.
To a teenager, this bond sounds so very romantic, full of dreams and imaginations, wild ones mostly : ). But realizing its responsibilities, the cascading effects of every decision, throws an entirely different light to the status. From a carefree individual, you suddenly become a cautious business partner. And this transition takes place only in a day or two. There is no training, rules or guidelines to follow. Just jump in the water and start/ learn / attempt swimming.
And we can’t restrict this relationship to just the people involved in it. There are families, friends and also lives that are yet to be born which get affected by it. I remember in my college days, discussing with my friend this word and the world that it has in itself. We both came to a conclusion that “Loving is easy, Living is difficult”.

WHICH IS BETTER.....FORMER OR LATTER?
Dad used to give us a measly Rs. 20/- per month,
in that we were not only able to eat stomachs fill,
but we were able to save too!!!
Now we earn a sum of 20K, we have no idea
where it goes, let alone saving it!!
Which was better, the former or the latter???
----------------------------------------------------------
6 subjects per year, 6 different teachers!
One project since we joined
and just one manager!!
Which was better, the former or the latter???
----------------------------------------------------------
We used to make notes;
we used to study for ranks!!
Now we scan thru our mails;
we struggle for our ratings!!!
Which was better, the former or the latter???
----------------------------------------------------------
We have still not forgotten the people
in the next section!!!
Now we don't even know who sits
in the next cubicle!!!
Which was better, the former or the latter???
----------------------------------------------------------
After getting back from a tiring play,
we used to do our home work!!
Now who knows/cares about home;
all we do is just work!!!
Which was better, the former or the latter???
----------------------------------------------------------
We knew our history and economics!!
Now let alone reading books,
we don't even catch up with the daily news!!!
Which was better, the former or the latter???
----------------------------------------------------------
We had an aim in life;
behind our backs we had our teachers!!
Now we have no idea about the
future nor do we find any
one who would tell us anything!!!
Now just ask yourself,
which was better,
the former or the latter????
Its an amazing article tracing the feelings of a couple as they go through a different phases of the marriage.
Keep it up....keep blogging.
From Alex
You were born together, and together you shall be forevermore.
You shall be together when the white wings of death scatter your days.
Ay, you shall be together even in the silent memory of God.
But let there be spaces in your togetherness,
And let the winds of the heavens dance between you.
Love one another, but make not a Bond of love:
Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.
Fill each other's cup but drink not from one cup.
Give one another of your bread but eat not from the same loaf
Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each one of you be alone,
Even as the strings of a lute are alone though they quiver with the same music.
Give your hearts, but not into each other's keeping.
For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts.
And stand together yet not too near together:
For the pillars of the temple stand apart,
And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other's shadow.
